Mid-calf-length skirts

I have to admit I have yet to jump on the longer skirts trend. I have a couple of maxi dresses that I wear in the summer, but I just haven't taken the plunge with the calf-length trend. I love the fact that these skirts are high-waisted and a-line shaped, but I worry that I may look like I'm chanelling Laura Ingalls Wilder if I give it a try. I thought it might be one of those trends that comes and goes within a season, but according to the latest issue of In Style, the calf-length trend will be going strong into spring. Below are a few of the longer skirts I've been eyeing over at Topshop. So I leave you with a question- have you tried the calf-length skirt? If so, how did you style it, and what shoes did you pair it with?

Premium Blue Pleated Midi Skirt, $100.

Standout Pleat Calf Skirt, $92.

Polka Dot Calf Skirt, $60.

Calf-length leather skirt, $250.

  4. I can't do this trend, unfortunately -- I think I'm just too short. But I'd pair it with a superhigh ladylike pair of pumps!

  5. I don't know if I can do it. I want to, but I think I might be too short - even with heels. And it TOTALLY conjures up images of Mary and Laura!!

  7. I have one skirt that is this length and it is very hard to style. I usually wear tall boots with it and just let part of them be covered. Still, not a homerun.
